OAKMONT THE BEAST – US OPEN PREVIEW FROM INSIDE THE ROPES

What a day we had at Oakmont, it was hot and humid and everyone is putting the finishing touches on their games. We did some range work, and some short game work. Video of Luke Donald out of the rough.

Next we have Gregor out of a plugged lie in the bunker

We had a bet with Charlie Hoffman on the front nine. WARNING TO ALL – DO NOT PLAY CHARLIE HOFFMAN FOR MONEY HE WILL CRUSH YOU!! OMG this guy hits it into orbit, and is VERY confident. He birdied holes 4, 7 and 8 on the front. I had to pay him $100 for this performance, and insisted on a photo before I would pay him. Charlie’s game is VERY solid, and he seems to be very dialed in. But man oh man, I will never bet against this guy again. However, he is not my pick to win this US Open, my pick is no surprise I am sure, and YES he is the favorite to win the Open. Jason Day I believe will win the US Open by 3 shots. Why? because he has the best long iron game in golf PERIOD. And he putts the lights out of it. Keep your eye on Charlie, but watch Jason Day roar!!

A local Bay Area phenom, James Hahn is undeniably one of the nicest guys in golf. This guy is someone you want to root for. Remember after his career at Cal, he was selling shoes at Nordstrom, and now he is a multiple PGA tour champion. His action is music to my eyes, and I hope you enjoy this slow motion video of his swing.
