At last Gene Elliott is a Crump Cup champion, and its well deserved. In 2000 I played Gene in the finals of the Crump Cup, and was fortunate to beat him on the 19th hole. Gene since has been a finalist and semi-finalist many times, and at age 51 has added this coveted title to his long list of accomplishments. Gene is a class act, and exemplifies what is good about the people that play great game.  The course this week was in incredible condition as the weather cooperated allowing the staff to get the course in firm and fast condition. This is the best condition to play Pine Valley in, unless you are hitting it sideways. I will post additional pictures of Pine Valley this week.

Gene Elliott of West Des Moines, IA won the 89th Annual Crump Memorial Tournament at Pine Valley Golf Club.  He defeated Matthew Sughrue of Arlington, VA 5 and 3 in the final.  Elliott defeated Michael Muehr of Potomac Falls, VA 1-up in the semi-final match. Sughrue defeated Michael McDermott of Bryn Mawr, PA 1-up in the semi-finals.
Martin R. West, III of Rockville, MD defeated Alan Fadel of Toledo, OH 3 and 2.
Coming up next the Olympic Club Championship starting this next weekend!!!
