US OPEN SECTIONAL – A LOOK AT BIG CANYON COUNTRY CLUB

Big Canyon CC is a great course, with some very steep sloping greens. It will be imperative to KEEP THE BALL BELOW THE HOLE. This sectional qualifier will be a success by those players that give themselves those chances at birdie from below the hole. Once you are above the hole you will be fighting to make pars. There are 102 players for only 5 spots into the US OPEN, and this day is called the longest day in golf with all the 36 hole sectional qualifiers going on. Below are some photos of Big Canyon starting on #1 over the lake. I have photos of the first 13 holes until my IPHONE went dead on me. Today is a day of rest, and tomorrow live scoring can be found on the SCGA web site at

  1. Sorry I couldn’t make it down there. I did follow you online all day. A great achievement for someone that is one day over 50. If you’re ever heading down here to La Quinta please call.
