After today’s quarter final matches and this afternoon semi finals Haag and Huff remained alive for the 2011 title. In the quarterfinals Phil Huff defeated the “Big Gun” Gary Vanier with a birdie in sudden death on the 19th hole. Then Phil defeated medalist Nick Ushijima in the semi finals 3&2. Earlier Nick had defeated Mike Staskus 3&2 to advance to the semi finals. In the lower bracket, Randy Haag defeated Stephen Simpkin 7&5 while Tim Dien defeated Eric Smith 1 up. In the afternoon semi final match I threw a barrage of birdies at Tim on the front nine at holes 1,2,4,8 and on 13 on the back nine for a 5&4 score.

The course is in amazing shape, and was a stern test despite not playing it all the y back on every hole. The green are like smooth glass, and I believe will be the best green the pros putt on during 2012 for the US Open.

Stay tuned for final results

  1. A little modest there don’t you think? You haven’t even had to play the 14th hole yet!!!! Nice blowouts.
