In much tougher conditions on Tuesday with the tees back and the pins tucked the scores climbed during day two of the 108th NCGA Amateur. Under foggy skies Kevin Wentworth shot a solid 71 for a -5 total of 139 to take the medalist honors and the #1 seed. Exactly 32 players shot a score of 150 or less, those at 151 missed the cut.
Tomorrow starts the marathon of match play with three consecutive days of 36 holes of match play at Spyglass Hill (that’s walking-no carts) The contestants ages range from me at 52 to the fine young man I played with during the qualifying rounds Sebastian Crampton, who shot two fine rounds of 72-73. Match play starts tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM for the round of 32.
Today 36 hole stroke play results can be found at:

Spyglass Hill is one of the best match play courses I’ve ever played. You must be very careful not to play too aggressive and sticking to your game plan is well advised!
